Due to high poverty in the area, the residents are not able to provide their children with basic needs such as food, education, clothing, medical care, etc. Hence the project is to reach the orphans, poor families, widows, street children and the youth in the slum, garbage dumping sites and restore their lives to a promising future. Most of the people live off and depend on garbage dumping sites, adults are not educated due to poverty, and most of the girls don’t go to school which undermines female education. All this has resulted to;-Alcoholism, drug abuse, prostitution, child labour, street kids, crimes, poor nutrition/health, H.I.V/AIDS infection and early marriage. The centre strives to eradicate poverty, offers education for both adults and children, provide medical care, clothing and food for the street kids and orphans, create H.I.V/AIDS awareness and preventing children to scavenge in the dumping sites and going to the streets as well as avoiding early marriage.
